Singer-songwriter Damon Valentine supported Badly Drawn Boy and Elbow at a John Lennon Charity Event held at the Royal Northern College of Music in December.
Liam Frost and The Slowdown Family
Having been described as 'the most talented young songwriter Manchester has produced for years' (Guy Garvey, Elbow), things are hotting up for 23 year-old Liam Frost. Liam (together with his band The Slowdown Family) released his debut album Show Me How The Spectres Dance in September 2006 on Lavolta Records (Sony BMG). The album was recorded with Coldplay producer Danton Supple.
Andy Ross
Songwriter Andy Ross has clocked up an impressive CV, including a performance at Buckingham Palace for Prince Charles’ 50th birthday celebrations, a tour supporting Ian Brown and more recently signing an international publishing deal with Clippers Music. At 14, he was the youngest songwriter ever to be admitted as a member of the PRS. Since then he has gone on to gig extensively with his band Al!ve, including a unique partnership with Yamaha which sees them tour to schools around the country.
