Lincoln has a fast developing music scene and the ATM Studios is very much part of this thriving community, being the main centre for popular music education in the area.

ATM Studios Lincoln has been established for five years and is situated at the heart of Lincoln city centre above the busy nightclub complex of Pulse, Ritzy and Jumping Jacks at Silvergate House.

The centre features state-of-the-art music tech resources, including 14 e-Mac workstations running Logic Pro 7 and Garage Band software. There are three fully-equipped rehearsal rooms (drum kits, guitar amps, bass amps, etc) plus two recording studios with live and control rooms. The rehearsal rooms and studios are hired out commercially and are maintained to a professional standard so that students can access fully-functioning industry-standard resources.

The centre is the venue for small in-house events such as performances, seminars and master classes. It has hosted the ATM Music Master Roadshow for two years running. The ATM national Atom Sounds CD, which showcases the best music created by students nationwide, has featured several Lincoln artists including the Whelk Attachment and Paul O’Brien, who has excelled in the art of beat-boxing and performance. He has appeared on national TV and in local press.

The centre has a dedicated tutor team of professional musicians with direct experience of the music industry.

JASON BOWLD
Jason is the drummer with Pitchshifter, This Is Menace and Getamped. He has toured twenty countries at stadium level with Black Sabbath, Deftones,Incubus, Tool, Ozzy Osbourne and the Queens of the Stone Age and has played at Download, Reading and Ozzfest. He has recorded with platinum-selling producers such as Steve Fitz Maurice (U2, Goldfrapp), Machine (Hedpe, Pitchshifter), Al Clay (Del Amitri, ‘A’) and Andy Sneap (Machinehead, 36 Crazy Fists). He has filmed eight promotional videos which have been broadcast on MTV and Scuzz, plus recorded numerous radio sessions for John Peel, the Radio One Rock Show and XFM. He is also a columnist for Rhythm magazine and a drum clinician.

SIKTH
Sikth are one of the most exciting and original metal bands in the UK playing their own distinctive brand of mathcore or tech metal.

 

 

It’s a Knock Out!
Lincoln rock outfit Knock Out Kaine beat off competition from over a thousand bands to take the title of Kerrang! Best Unsigned Band in a recent competition. The public voted for their favourite tracks played on Kerrang! Radio. The eight best acts then went head to head in a live final. The judging panel included Kerrang! executives, music producers and journalists. Their prize includes a Washburn guitar signed by Nine Inch Nails, the Gallows, and Judas Priest and priceless promotion on Kerrang! Radio and in the magazine. Debut single Skinstar is out now and the inevitable record label interest has followed. December 15 2007 saw the release of Terminal Vanity, the boy's first full studio album. The band members are all current or ex-students of ATM Lincoln.

ATM Lincoln student Michael Burke plays Download Festival!
Michael Burke's trip to the 2007 Download Festival was made more memorable than most when he ended up performing. The 17-year old ATM Lincoln student and his band Defnation seized their opportunity when they saw a slot had become free and handed in a demo.The risk paid off and the band were pulled up to perform in front of a crowd of thousands at the festival whose line-up included Iron Maiden and Linkin Park.myspace.com/defnation

The Prodigy pay visit to Lincoln
Jim Davies (guitarist) and Keiron Pepper (drummer) from The Prodigy visited the Lincoln centre in early 2007 to give workshops on guitar, drums and programming. The Prodigy are famed for hits such as Breathe and Firestarter.
